Don't forget that if you are a FEDAGA member, you can order discounted seeds direct from Kings Seeds.
There are sometimes leaves, wood chip, and compost available for free from the communal bays.
We organise the purchase of some goods on behalf of our members. We do not sell to the general public. It's really just a communal purchase scheme. Ignore any information FEDAGA sends out about ordering. We can't use their scheme because we order so much we can't collect it from Inverleith.
We organise yearly pre-purchasing of potatoes and onions, leek seedlings, and bulk goods such as compost. We usually have some spare potatoes and onions for sale first come first served. We also usually organise a yearly delivery of zoo poo. We charge for zoo poo as we have to pay for haulage.
The schedule is roughly:
Potatoes and onions - order Aug-Sep, delivered third week of February
Leeks - order Jul-Aug, delivered June
Zoo poo - delivered Oct; no pre-orders but sales are rationed at first to give everyone a chance.
Bulk goods - order Nov-Dec, delivered in January
These dates may change. We have to work with what suppliers and our volunteers can do.
We also keep the following bulk goods in small tubs on the chalet porch, in a metal box, for purchase. Amounts are very approximate. Ask us how to pay by BACS.
Lime - 1 kilo for 50p / kg
Growmore - £1 / 700g
Blood Fish and Bone - £1 / kg
Bonemeal £1 / 640g
Please return the tubs, and don't bend the lids to shove them inside as they often won't close again. We use the sturdy one kilo yogurt and peanut butter tubs and sometimes ask plotholders to save them for us.
